Story Objects
This was an exercise on facilitating groups in writing stories using objects and a process to draw meaning and sequence out of those objects. The volunteers were presented with a pile of ordinary objects (such as a candle, toy car, girls diary, table tennis paddle) sawed in half. With the objects sawed in half they ceased becoming what they were supposed to be and could be transformed through the story into other things. The storyteller was then led through the exercise placing the objects in a sequence. At each stage they would decide where the story and objects were and if the meanings of the objects had changed. This was an exploration into the writing process in the context of physicality, sequence and objects as containers of narrative.
