Product and service design

I have hands-on expertise in all stages of design: from concept, user research, interfaces and prototypes to shipping a thing and getting it into people's hands. I consistently deliver inventive, user-centric, zero-to-one solutions that not just work, but engage. I'm also proficient in mixed platforms and emerging technologies with a proven ability to develop ground-breaking products.

Analysis, insights and strategy

I help organizations rethink their ways of working by understanding the jobs to be done. Through collaboration with internal teams and customers, I provide insights on how design and technology can help solve problems. My expertise spans fieldwork in Rwanda to research with blind phone users, ensuring a deep understanding of user needs and giving insights as to how design and technology can help solve them.

Building design capacity and operations

Design is a practice that I often help a company start by first doing and then spreading. In essence it's designing design for organisation who want to and need to build design capacity to solve problems creatively for their users. This means starting to figure out by designing and then building up a team and culture to do more of the same to move things forward in powerful ways.

Innovation review

I'm currently an occasional expert evaluator for the European Commission European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and have received funding from the British government for a platform I built in 2017 and can help review product and service innovation for market.

Lecturing & public speaking

I've presented to everyone from the European Parliament to boardrooms and lecture halls on three continents, presenting the power of design and innovation to everyone from archeologists to senior citizens and happy to do the same for you.
